City Lines

Two weeks, five dawns, one district — an architectural study of glass, steel and morning light.

Glass and steel tower photographed at dawn

Overview

The brief I set myself was simple: photograph the financial district as if nobody worked there — pure form, no bustle. That meant shooting between 5:30 and 7 in the morning, when the streets are empty and the glass is doing all the talking.

Over ten shooting days I mapped the district block by block, returning to the strongest corners as the light changed. The final edit of twenty frames became the City Lines series — and two of its prints now anchor the shop.

Approach

No tripod theatrics, no tilt-shift trickery. A single body, two primes, and a rule: every frame had to balance hard geometry against something soft — sky, reflection, haze. Where the buildings wouldn’t bend, the light would.

  • 10 dawn sessions across 2 weeks
  • 20-frame final edit from 1,400 exposures
  • 2 limited-run prints released to the shop
